Building Our Connections
With so many different jobs, interests and points of view, what is it that holds UW employees together? President Mark Emmert answers this way, "Passion for learning – learning as a verb... and learning as a noun."
The Community team is working to strengthen the sense of belonging and common purpose at the UW. Our recommendations range from improving new employee orientation to establishing programs that tap the valuable knowledge of long-time faculty and staff. While many of our recommendations apply across the University, we see each employee's work unit as his or her primary community. Connection begins within the departments, units and divisions in which we spend most of our time and find much of the satisfaction that comes with working at the UW.
