Registration Procedures

Browsing for a Course

  • Locate the course by browsing through our course catalog. Select the section you would like to attend. Enter your UW NetID (Dante or Homer login name) along with your password.
  • After your identity is verified, a Registration screen appears, which displays details of the selected section, including the number of spaces available. If space is available, you may register for the course section. If the section is full, you may waitlist and/or browse alternate sections.

Registering and Paying for a Course

Registration is complete upon full payment of course fees. Placement on a waitlist will be done when full payment is received. All cash, check or credit card payments are processed immediately, in accordance with official University of Washington policy. Four forms of payments are acceptable:

  • UW Budget
Once you get to the Registration screen which indicates that space is available in a course section, you may complete your registration immediately if you are using a UW Budget Number. Enter the appropriate budget number and your phone number. Click the "Budget Registration" button to complete the process.
  • Check*
If you are paying by check, you must complete a Registration Form and send it, along with your check, to UW Computer Training.
  • Cash*
Cash payment is acceptable also, but it must be done in person at the UW Computer Training. Upon full payment of the course fees registration is complete, and an email registration confirmation notice is sent to you.
  • Credit Card*
Use our course catalog to register online and charge your credit card.

  • [05/13/08 The credit card payment is unavailable at this time.]

*Note: UW staff or faculty who pay for a course by cash, check or credit card will be assessed a 15.6% institutional overhead fee. Students paying for a course with a UW Budget Number are charged staff fees.

UW Staff who are taking more than 6 credits per quarter are eligible for student rates when paying by cash or check.

Registration Confirmation

UW Computer Training will send an email confirmation when you are registered for a course. Please read your registration confirmation message carefully. Course dates, times, and locations are subject to change.

Note: Please contact the training office if you do not receive an email registration confirmation.

Deadline for Registration and Fees

Some courses fill quickly. Register early; at least five working days prior to the starting date of the course to ensure a space or avoid class cancellation. Fees must be included with the registration.

Payment Posting

Payments made for tuition and fees will be posted immediately to the student's account.
