Astra - eProcurement Authorizations Rollout
Copy of message sent to all arganization Authorizing Agents on 2/5/07
We are happy to announce that eProcurement User setup through ASTRA is now distributed to campus. Many of you are already using ASTRA for management of access to other applications, such as SAGE, Financial Desktop and FS-WORKS.
Action items for you: (see below for more details)
- Create eProcurement Authorizers in ASTRA.
- Forward training dates/times and material to your Authorizers.
- Email astra@u.washington.edu if additional Delegators are needed.
The eProcurement system has been in place for three years; we’ve concluded that authorization management should occur within the organizational units, allowing the most direct and efficient method for managing access to eProcurement.
As the Authorizing Agent for your organization, you have been set up as an eProcurement Delegator and Authorizer. If co-Delegator(s) exist, please send an email to
astra@u.washington.edu so they can also be setup in ASTRA.
As a Delegator, you need to set up unit administrators in ASTRA as eProcurement Authorizers. Authorizers will use ASTRA to manage eProcurement access for people in their units.
Many User authorizations have been already established by the eProcurement support team. Campus Authorizers have the benefit of stepping into the current arrangement in a kind of “maintenance mode” only needing to review existing details and adding or deleting
authorizations as changes occur, ie; personnel or job function changes, etc.
Here are links to the eProcurement web site where two documents with step-by-step ASTRA instructions are located:
