The University of Washington appreciates your hard work and dedication, which contribute to the overall success of the institution. The UW encourages employee recognition and supports the UW Service Recognition Program to acknowledge employees for their years of service to the University.
This program recognizes classifed and professional staff for each five years of continuous service. Service is measured from the date of the most recent hire; periods of academic, student, or temporary employment are not included. Employees must be in active service on their anniversary date to receive a service award. Employees on a leave of absence during their service anniversary will receive the selected award upon return to work.
Human Resources works with each unit's service award coordinator to ensure that employees are notified of their upcoming milestone service awards so that they may select a service award or one of the other recognition options prior to the milestone anniversary.
At the five year milestone, for example, eligible employees receive a lapel pin etched with the UW seal. For each five years of additional continuous service, employees are eligible to receive a gift from the appropriate milestone level, or to apply the gift's value to one of the other recognition options. Links to milestone levels are displayed on the right side of this page.
If you are celebrating a milestone anniversary, congratulations! Once you have received your selection form, you can view the service award options to the right. If you are celebrating 10 or more years of service, you may either choose a gift, or apply the value of the award to one of these options: Husky Dollars, UW athletic event tickets, a UW fund donation, or UW Performing Arts event tickets. Note your choice of award on the selection form and return the form to your department's service award coordinator for processing.
