Violence Prevention and Response - All Campus Sessions - Register online: Preventing violence on campus is a responsibility we all share. Learn the warning signs and how to respond in a free 50 minute briefing session. Open to students, faculty and staff. Sessions are scheduled throughout Autumn Quarter.

New violence prevention resource - The UW Safe Campus website is a comprehensive violence prevention web resource for faculty, staff, and students. Review the revised UW Policy & Procedure on Violence in the Workplace.

Listed below are the UW employment programs. Contact your unit’s administrator if you are uncertain of your position’s employment program.

Contract Classified Staff
UW employees in positions that are governed by a labor contract that specifies the terms and conditions of employment.
Classified Non-Union Staff
UW employees in positions covered by Washington State Department of Personnel civil service rules.
Professional Staff
UW employees in non-academic positions exempted from civil service rules and instead covered by the UW’s Professional Staff Program.

Temporary Appointments
UW employs staff in a variety of temporary appointments that are limited in the number of hours or months that may be worked in a specified 12-month period.
