Temporary Employment Opportunities at the University of Washington

The UTemp Staffing Program provides temporary employment services throughout the University of Washington to departments seeking qualified individuals to meet their temporary staffing needs. 

Working as a temporary employee through UTemp Staffing is a great way to gain experience and exposure to UW job opportunities. You can explore employment opportunities in healthcare, technology, facilities, research, and administration as you discover what a great place the UW is to work.

UTemp positions are limited in duration – ranging from half a day to several months – and cover situations such as special projects and events, workflow peaks, unscheduled absences, scheduled leaves or vacations, and pending recruitments.

UTemp Staffing is currently seeking applicants in the following areas:

  • Administrative Support and Office Management (intermediate to advanced computer proficiency preferred)
  • Accounting and Fiscal (bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, billing, UW financial systems )
  • Trades and Light Industrial (general labor, driving, warehouse, custodial)

UTemp Staffing also regularly seeks applicants in the following areas:

  • Entry-level office support (some computer proficiency desired but not required, filing, reception, multi-line phones)
  • Data processing (data entry, transcription)
  • Healthcare (various office support and patient services, medical records)
  • Research (laboratory assistance, grant coordination, and program support)
  • Information Systems (software and hardware support, helpdesk, development)
  • General Services (customer service, ushering and event preparation, cashiering, hospitality/food service)
