Weight Watchers
@ Work
Weight management is a crucial part of health and Weight Watchers is one of the many solutions to maintaining a healthy weight. Although the program is divided into "sessions", you are welcome to join at any time. If you are interested in joining Weight Watchers or have questions, please contact www.weightwatchers.com or benefits@u.washington.edu
Meeting Schedules
Approach
Keeping weight off for the long haul requires more than just a focus on food. The “Four Pillars” of Weight Watchers are food, behavior, support, and exercise. Here you will be encouraged to develop healthy habits, exercise, and make smarter food choices—all in a supportive environment.
Payment
Fees are prorated for partial sessions. Payment is due upon sign-up. Cash, credit card or checks are accepted. Weight Watchers meeting coupons are also accepted.
Reimbursement for meeting costs may be available through a pre-tax flexible spending account. You will need a letter from your doctor stating that it is medically necessary for you to attend a weight management program.
Lifetime members of Weight Watchers attend meetings free. Monthly weigh-ins may be done at any campus location. Lifetime members who are no more than 7 pounds over goal may pay week-to-week ($12). Lifetime members who are over 7 pounds must join the session at the current rate.
UW faculty and staff are welcome to attend any scheduled meeting without penalty of switching. If you miss a weekly meeting on campus, you are encouraged to attend a center meeting in the community - just take your enrollment book with you.
