UW Discount Program -FAQ
- How do I access the vendor discounts?
- Go to the Motivano SmartSavings page, and follow the instructions to create an account. After you create an account you are routed to the SmartSavings web pages to access discounts on hundreds of products and services.
- How do I redeem discounts?
- Each merchant decides how they want their discounts redeemed. Most national merchant offers can only be redeemed online. In some cases you will need to enter the discount code from the SmartSavings site when you check out on the merchant’s website. In other cases the discount is calculated automatically when you check out at the merchant website.
- Are my account details be private - Will I get Spam?
- All information that you provide to Motivano is restricted to their database only. Under no circumstance will your information be shared with participating merchants or with the public. You will not receive unsolicited emails from Motivano.
When you make a purchase you may be asked to provide a vendor with your personal email address. You should read the vendor's privacy policy, as vendor privacy policies may vary.
- What if I do not have a Husky Card?
- If you need to use a Husky Card to redeem a local merchant’s discount and you do not have one, you can use a current print-out from MyUW showing your employee, student or retiree ID number. If you do not have UW identification at the time of purchase, the merchant may not honor the discount.
- How do I recommend a merchant?
- You may recommend a merchant two ways: 1) You can tell the merchant to look at our Discount Program home page to learn more about our program, or 2) select the“Suggest a Merchant button on the Motivano website.
- What are the UW Discount Program policies?

- Does the UW negotiate or guarantee prices or terms?
- No. The University of Washington does not negotiate or guarantee prices or terms made available by vendors to recipients through the UW Discount Program. We strongly recommend that recipients research and compare prices, levels of service, and consider any other relevant factors before making any purchase. It may be helpful to contact the local Better Business Bureau in advance or making a purchase.
