UW Discount Program Conditions & Disclaimers

Program Overview

The UW Discount Program is designed to provide faculty, staff, students and retirees (referred to as "recipients") access to a wide variety of discounts on merchant goods and services through "Motivano SmartSavings". The program is administered by Benefits & WorkLife, a division of Human Resources.

Negotiation, Pricing and Terms

The University of Washington does not negotiate or guarantee prices or terms that vendors make available to Recipients. Recipients should carefully research and compare prices, levels of service, and consider any other relevant factors before making any purchase.

Dispute Resolution

Purchases and sales made through Motivano SmartSavings are solely between the purchaser, and the vendor. The University of Washington has no responsibility or obligation with respect to purchases or sales (including no responsibility or obligation for disputes between a recipient and any discount vendor). Accordingly, recipients who avail themselves of the program acknowledge and agree that under no circumstances shall the University of Washington be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, or consequential damages that result from, or arise out of the purchase, sale or use of any products or services purchased or sold.

Participation

Recipients

Recipients possessing a legitimate UWNetID (or Husky Card) will usually be able to obtain the merchant discounts. Motivano SmartSavings program in support of the UW Discount program may also provide coupons or discount codes for specific merchants and/or items.

Merchants

Any merchant may request participation  in the UW Discount Program by emailing    Motivano at referrals@motivano.com. Motivano is the sole entity responsible for approving merchants and displaying discount offerings .

Disclaimer of Endorsement or Warranty

The University of Washington has no affiliation with, does not endorse, has no responsibility for, and makes no representations or warranties with respect to a) the vendors who offer products or services via the UW Discount Program; b) information provided by vendors in any form, whether printed or electronic; c) the quality of products or services that vendors offer or sell to recipients through the UW Discount Program; or d) the ability of vendors to meet their promises or obligations in connection with the sale of a product or service, including all express, statutory, and implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
